Kerbin Council indefinite · Session open
The Government of Kerbin supports democratic continuity under the Council Indefinite system: strategic programs—national infrastructure, NASA oversight, and the Chancellor's coordinated agencies—serve the public interest within Council law and the Constitution of Kerbin (Y. 188).
Kerbin is governed by the Kerbin Council, a 412-seat indefinite parliamentary body constituted in Year 188. Seats are vacated only by resignation, death via one of the seven recognized causes, or removal by a two-thirds majority vote—which has occurred four times in Council history.
The head of state is the First Snack-Bearer, a ceremonial title. The head of government is the Chancellor, appointed by Council majority. The Chancellor's office oversees strategic national programs, including NASA.
“It is an institution in which any motion can be defeated by a single member saying 'we tried that, in Year 244.' I have heard this said about reforms originally proposed in Year 240.” — J. Quist, Inside the Council, Y. 405
Total: 412 seats. Majority: 207. Current governing coalition: Snack Coalition + Greens-In-Practice (260 combined).
District listings, session calendars, and published votes are released through the Council Clerk. For historical Treaty of Big Hill materials (Y. 311), contact the Archives Reading Room.
NASA operates under Chancellor oversight with Council strategic alignment. Program safety standards and contractor oversight are published at the NASA public site.
The Council maintains formal procedures for petitions, public comment windows, and road-adjacent complaint routing—subject to district staffing and weather in the Council Chamber.
